Moseley mental health hospital approved
The Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust has approved a scheme to create a new mental health hospital at the Moseley Hall Hospital on Alcester Road.
Work on the £17 million hospital will begin later this year and will incorporate the latest facilities such as en-suite rooms, a therapy suite and visitor facilities all in a tranquil setting. There will also be training and seminar facilities at the site enabling staff to keep up-to-date with the latest methods and techniques.
Funding is via a loan awarded under the ProCure 21 scheme.
The first patients will receive treatment from December 2010 with completion planned by July 2011.
