Moseley station to re-open?
Centro have allocated £125,000 towards an initial feasibility study on the re-opening of the south-west Bordesley Chord which will link passenger services from Moseley or Kings Heath into Moor Street station. Once a preferred option of track and structure layouts has been selected Network Rail will develop this further helped by money from the Department of Transport. It is intended to build the Bordesley Chord between 2014 to 2019.
Estimates for the Bordesley Chord are around £35million. Stations at Moseley and Kings Heath would be around £1million each. The Moseley station would be located between St. Mary's Row and Woodbridge Road, where it was previously until closure in 1941.
